Badlands National Park

Badlands National Park stretches over 242,756 acres (982.4 km2) and features a dramatic landscape that consists of eroded buttes, spikes, steep canyons, colorful layers and beautiful grass prairies. The erosion is visible in form of colorful layers that run across the eroded buttes and spikes in beautiful purple, orange and yellow colors. Besides its dramatic landscape the park is home to the greatest fossil mammals ever found, that are between 34 and 37 million years old.
